Antarctica21 unveils Magellan Discoverer, the Americas’ first hybrid-electric expedition Ship

Antarctica21 has launched Magellan Discoverer, the first hybrid-electric expedition cruise ship built in the Americas. Entering service for the 2026–27 Antarctic season, the 94-metre vessel will carry 76 guests and feature IMO Tier III-compliant engines, marine batteries, and energy recovery systems to reduce CO₂ emissions. Bookings are now open through early 2028.
