Nepal hikes climbing fees for Mount Everest

The Nepali government has raised Mount Everest climbing permit fees for foreigners to USD 15,000, effective from September 1, 2025. Spring climbers this year are exempt. Fees for fall, winter, and monsoon seasons have also increased. Nepali climbers face a doubled fee of 150,000 rupees. Everest's 8,848.86-meter elevation remains a major attraction despite its dangers.
