Greece to tax cruise ship arrivals to protect popular islands from overtourism

Greece plans to introduce a 20-euro levy on cruise ship visitors to Santorini and Mykonos during peak summer to prevent overtourism. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that part of the revenue will be invested in local infrastructure. Measures to regulate cruise ship arrivals and protect the environment are also planned.
